Originally from Long Island, New York, Devin moved to Park City, Utah to chase her Olympic dreams and commit full-time to freeskiing. Devin won the inaugural silver medal in Slopestyle Skiing at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Almost a decade and three more Olympic Games later, she retired from competition in 2022 to pursue a career as a private chef. Devin remains active in freeskiing and aspires to bridge the gap between the solo nature of competitive skiing and the community that surrounds her.
My passion for cooking started while I was traveling during my competition career. Having homemade meals always made me feel emotionally and physically better to be away from home. Once I stopped competing, I knew fueling myself properly with good foods helped maintain the energy I needed to keep pursuing outdoor activities. Whether it's eating a healthy breakfast to prepare for a big day on skis or a recovery meal afterward, food is something everyone needs to keep going—and my thought is why not make it delicious at the same time?Â
I’m excited to venture in other aspects of skiing that I haven’t been able to focus on. I spent so much time traveling to all these amazing places for skiing, but now I want to discover the mountains that surround me here in Utah. I am excited to take my skiing outside the park and pipe and challenge myself in the backcountry. The mountains are nature's terrain park and I am inspired to get outside my comfort zone and challenge myself on different terrain.Â
Mountain sports and adventures can test you in a lot of different ways, physically and mentally, but being uncomfortable now will allow you to become more comfortable in the future.
I love rap music! I find myself making playlists that feature Drake, Lil Wayne, Lizzo, and 21 Savage for getting super pumped to do activities.
Heli skiing in Alaska! I've never been in a helicopter before.
