Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO WIN STIO’S MTN MUSIC SERIES CONTEST (THE “CONTEST”). ODDS OF WINNING DEPEND UPON THE TOTAL NUMBER OF ELIGIBLE ENTRIES.  A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. STIO RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CANCEL OR WITHDRAW CONTEST AT ANY POINT FOR ANY REASON.

1. How To Win:

Beginning June 20, 2024 at 10:00 AM MST through July 31, 2024 at 7:00 PM MST. Participants must complete all steps included in the entry requirement. (1) Create a reel. Stop by one of our 10 Stio Mountain Studios and record yourself playing a tune that's close to your heart (or just has a good beat) on the Stio x Taylor GS Mini Guitar that's on display in-store. (2) Post your reel, and in the caption tell us how music makes you feel connected to others and the outdoors. Don't forget to use #StioMountainMusic, #StioFeaturing and tag @stio and @taylorguitars. (3) Follow us @stio. Three finalists will be chosen by Stio and contacted via Instagram Direct Message for participant information & video approval for reshare on Stio Instagram account. One winner will be chosen by public vote via Stio’s Instagram platform. Winner will be contacted via Instagram Direct Message by August 15. Winner will be announced after prize acceptance via Stio's Instagram story (@stio). 
 

2. Prizes & Approximate Retail Value:

One winner will be chosen – All prize sizes and colors are subject to current product inventory.

The prize package for the winner includes:
Travel gift card of up to $1000 per person, up to two (2) persons for flights if required for attendance, airport transfer for two (2), two (2) nights of lodging for two (2) persons, four (4) VIP tickets to the 2025 King Concert Series for concerts of the winners choice, one (1) Stio x Taylor Guitars Mountain Series Guitar, one (1) up to $500 MSRP value worth of Stio apparel.

Approximate Retail Value: Up To $5,000.
Taylor x Stio Guitar must be redeemed by December 31st.  A gift card/voucher of up to $1000 per person for flights, if required for attendance, will be provided by Stio to the winner. Lodging will be provided by Stio, and booked as soon as the dates are finalized. Tickets will be provided by Stio as soon as the winner selects the show from the 2025 King Concert Series schedule, released between March and May of 2025. The $500 MSRP value of Stio apparel will be redeemed as soon as the winner submits their order request. Order request must include style name, gender, size, color, quantity and shipping address.  

3. Finalist Notification:

In the event the finalist(s) doesn’t respond to Stio’s notification and send submission video and accompanying information within two (2) business days of notification, an alternate finalist will be chosen by Stio.

4. Winner Notification:

In the event the winner doesn’t respond to Stio’s notification or does not accept the prize, or fails to provide signed affidavits or releases,  within five (5) business days of notification, the prize will be deemed forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected from the three (3) finalists. In the event that any one or more potential winner(s) fails to respond as stated above, declines the prize, or fails to provide signed affidavits or releases, such winner(s) will be deemed to forfeit the prize and Stio will select an alternate winner(s) from the remaining eligible entrants. If any alternate(s) similarly fails to respond or declines the prize, or fails to provide signed affidavits or releases, Stio will use a reasonable number of attempts, in its discretion, to award the prize(s) to another alternate(s) but if it is unable to do so, the prize(s) will be finally forfeited and Stio shall have no further liability in connection with this Contest. Winners will be notified via direct message at Stio’s discretion, on or about August 15, 2024. The winner’s name will be posted on Stio's Instagram story (@stio).

5. Entries:

One entry per person. Entries will be managed via Stio’s Instagram platform and reviewed internally by Stio. Entries using macro, robotic, scrip or other forms of automatic entry will be disqualified. If there is a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the prize will be awarded to the authorized account holder of the Instagram account. The "authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person to whom the Instagram account is assigned by an Internet service provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning accounts for the domain associated with the submitted account.

Participation via a competition service or the use of automated competition bots or other means of manipulation is not permitted. Stio reserves the right to exclude the participant from the competition if a rule is violated.

6. Eligibility:

Contest is only open to residents of the United States and the District of Columbia, who have met the entry requirements. Entrants must be eighteen (18) years or older to enter. Any individual (including but not limited to employees, consultants, independent contractors and interns) who has, within the past six (6) months, held employment with or performed services for Stio or any organizations affiliated with the fulfillment, administration, prize support, advertisement, or promotion of the Contest are not eligible to enter or win, and their family members and persons living in the same households of such individuals are not eligible to participate in the Contest.

7. Conditions of participation:

Entrants must have a valid Instagram account and it is the entrant's responsibility to update Stio of any change in account. Entrants are required to share submission video with Stio if chosen as a finalist within two (2) business days of being contacted. Expenses not specifically included in prize description and all taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. All amounts are in US Dollars. Each prize is awarded "as is" with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied, outside of manufacturer's limited warranty. No transfer, assignment, or substitution of a prize permitted, except Stio reserves the right to substitute for prize an item of equal or greater value in the event an advertised prize is unavailable. If the winner does not require lodging or travel (at Stio’s discretion), that part of the prize is forfeited. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Entrants agree to be bound by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of Stio, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to this Contents. Winner may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release, and, where legally permissible, a Publicity Release within five (5) business days following the date of first attempted notification. Failure to comply with this deadline may result in forfeiture of the prize and selection of an alternate winner. Return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for Stio and its agencies to use winner's name and/or likeness, biographical material, and/or entry (including an altered form of the entry) for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law. By accepting prize, winner agrees to hold Stio, its advertising and promotion agencies and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, representative agents, successors, assigns, officers, directors, and employees harmless for any injury or damage caused or claimed to be caused by participation in the Contest or acceptance or use of the prize. Stio is not responsible for any printing, typographical, mechanical, or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the Content or in the announcement of the prize.

8. Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release:

Potential winners of the Contest will be required to sign and properly execute the following documents and return them via email (and subsequently by mail) to Stio within five (5) business days of receipt: (1) an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Waiver, and Publicity Release (where legally permissible); (2) a W-9 Tax Form. If any documents sent to a potential winner by any means are returned as undeliverable or if a potential winner fails to properly execute and return all documents described herein in the time noted, or if a potential winner is found not to be eligible or not in compliance with these Official Rules the winner’s prize will be forfeited, and an alternate potential winner (for corresponding Prize) may be selected for and contacted in accordance with these Official Rules.

9. Internet:

Stio is not responsible for electronic transmission errors resulting in omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or for technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware, or software malfunctions or limitations of any kind, or inaccurate transmissions of or failure to receive entry information by Stio or presenter on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website or any combination thereof. If for any reason the Internet portion of the program is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest, Stio reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest. Stio reserves the right to select winners from eligible entries received as of the termination date. Stio further reserves the right to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process. Stio may prohibit an entrant from participating in the Contest if it determines that said entrant is attempting to undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest by cheating, hacking, deception, or other unfair playing practices or intending to abuse, threaten, or harass other entrants. Caution: Any attempt by a participant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Stio reserves the right to seek damages from any such participant to the fullest extent of the law.

10. Disputes/Binding Nature/Waiver:

Except where prohibited, each entrant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by state or federal courts situated in Jackson, WY; (2) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event attorneys' fees; (3) no punitive, incidental, special, consequential, or other damages, including without limitation lost profits, may be awarded (collectively, "Special Damages"); and (4) entrant hereby waives all rights to claim Special Damages and all rights to have such damages multiplied or increased.  By entering the Contest, each entrant agrees: (a) to be bound by these Official Rules and by all applicable laws and decisions of Stio, which shall be binding and final; (b) to waive any rights to claim ambiguity with respect to these Official Rules; and (c) where permitted by applicable law, to forever and irrevocably agree to waiver, release, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Stio from any and all claims, lawsuits, judgments, causes of action, proceedings, demands, fines, penalties, liability costs and expenses (including, without limitation, reasonable outside attorneys’ fees) that may arise in connection with the Contest.

11. Binding Arbitration:

The parties waive all rights to trial in any action or proceeding instituted in connection with these Official Rules and/or this Contest. Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to these Official Rules and/or this Contest shall be settled by binding arbitration in accordance with the commercial arbitration rules of the American Arbitration Association. Any such controversy or claim shall be arbitrated on an individual basis, and shall not be consolidated in any arbitration with any claim or controversy of any other party. The arbitration shall be conducted in the State of Wyoming, and judgment on the arbitration award may be entered into any court having jurisdiction thereof.

12. Prize Taxes:

All federal, state or other tax liabilities arising from this Contest are the sole responsibility of the winner.

13. Use of Data

By entering, entrants may be contacted by Stio or its partnering sponsors with future promotional offers or requests for feedback.  Information provided by entrants to participate in the Contest is subject to Stio’s and any partnering sponsor’s privacy policies listed below.  Entrants will be automatically opted in to receive partner email newsletters. They may unsubscribe at any time after receiving partner email.
